A.G. Russell Ron Lake Tail Lock

Got this one in a collection I recently purchased. Been trying off and on for years to acquire one of these. Seems like they always sell for just a little more than my highest bid, so I am the second highest bidder on these many times. I thought originally that these were made in Japan and you wouldn’t know this was made in China and not Japan from inspecting this knife. It’s very well made and made to the same standards that the Japanese knives are made to. The only thing to kick about is the tiny bit of space at the run up between the handles and the blade.
This is a design by Ron Lake. The tab on the end of the knife is the blade lock release, very unique design. The MOP scales are beautiful on this polished stainless steel knife. A.G. Russell had a real winner here.

I have always liked that pattern and, like you, Mark, I tried to get one several times but always came up a few bids short (I was probably the third highest bidder right behind you more than once!) I did not know they were made in China, but like all AGR's knives, the quality is always high regardless of where he had them made. Nice score!

Thanks RIck and Q. The MOP is spectacular.
I guess we both made the wrong assumption on COO Q. I looked at several that were sold either on Arizona Customs or Cutting Edge and they all say China as well. Surprised by what those two companies have gotten for them, makes my second highest bids seem like small potatoes.
