Post by Corn Creek Cutlery »

New RoseCraft Blades Sweetwater Creek Stag Senator Lambsfoot Available In My Store Early Tuesday Morning October 29!

The RoseCraft Blades Sweetwater Creek Senator Stag is a one-bladed Senator pattern that features a 2.7” D2 lambsfoot blade with a brushed satin finish, a half-stop and heavy swedging. It has genuine red deer stag covers with brushed stainless steel bolsters, liners, and nickel silver pins. It has no shield and is 3.5” closed, 6.2” overall, and weighs just 2.4oz. This pattern was inspired by other traditional Senator patterns and re-imagined by Andy Armstrong.

I just ordered my first 2 RC knives from the store here. In my mind they compete in looks and price with Case. So I will see if fit and finish beat case and if they do I may buy more. I have yet to handle one but being affordable, no-brass and great looking stag made me give em a try.

good call Rick, you won’t be disappointed. I carried my Sweetwater Creek Senator Stag yesterday and it was pure pleasure. The snap is akin to my finest custom knives with a distinctive “thunk” when closing. You’ll be hooked and I bet you can’t have just 2!!! ::handshake::

So I understand that knives coming from China can claim to be any type of steel with any type of hardness and not actually be what they say they are. But have there actually been any tests done to verify stated hardnesses or compositions? Are the claimed stag handles actually At least organic instead of something synthetic? Are blades actually tempered to hold an edge and be sharpened?

I'm buying 4 China knives this week which will bring my total to 5. The first was a $15 RR purchased solely as a novelty because of the tie dyed handle and blade. I've never really bothered to test it by using it to cut anything or re sharpen it. What are you all's experience with these knives in actual use?

I wonder this about every knife that makes steel claims no matter what country or price point they are at, I write it off as a leap of faith.
