Need help identifying knife

Post by mmigliore19 »

Hello I have inherited some knives from my father who passed away, I am assuming they were his when he was a child in the 70s.

However this knife I have no clue what it is, what its for and who made it any help would be appreciated!

It is a YACHTSMAN’S knife, with a sheepsfoot blade, and a marlinspike (intended for splicing rope).
Would you please post a close-up and detailed photo of the tang stamp, which will disclose the brand or manufacturer.

Lots of manufacturers made them. I agree with Mike. Jigging pattern looks like Schrade. O'.

Camillus made them under their name, and made some on contract stamped with other company names also. For some interesting history, do an internet search for “marlin spike.”

I have a couple of them in the shop, waiting on repairs.
I agree that it looks most like the Schrade, especially the blade shape.

Definitely looks like Schrade before they incorporated a lock for the "marlin spike".
