stainless steel USA tang stamp

Post by ironmage »

I was just wondering if anybody could help tell me what year this pruning knife was made possibly and who made it. I had guessed it was a Camilli’s from the looks of it and the quality which actually it’s pretty sturdy but plastic.. has a great Warrencliffe blade that I like, and I’ve had it for a long time. I really like to know around when it was made and who for sure made it. It has " Clauss" on the handle and is Tang stamped @stainless steel USA" Thanks for any help.

Clauss is a long-time knife maker and brand, there is a wikipedia and other online info on them. I'm assuming it's one of theirs, with ACME being the current owner.

Most if not all Clauss folding pocket knives were made on contract by other cutleries, including Case, Robeson, Schatt & Morgan, Queen, Utica, Camillus, Challenge, and probably others, and marked with the Clauss stamp. search.php?keywords=Clauss+&terms=all&a ... mit=Search
