Help identifying a couple of knives and their histories

Post by sawdust256 »

I picked up a couple of knives and I was hoping one of gurus on here could help me to identify them and to discover their history? Please help me!
1. I know it is made in Utica New York but I am not sure of the maker. It is a very well made knife that just feels very good! No wobble, great walk and talk and no cracks on the scales. I am not sure how old it is or who made it. It does have some lettering on the tang that I can not make out. I see the oblong logo but I am not familiar with it at all.

2. This one feels great in the hand! It is a Globe Cutlery out of New York? Please educate me on the history and maker and potentially the age of the knife? I know nothing about this maker! Thank y’all so much!!!

I think you're first one might be an Iroquois. It was a house brand of Utica in the early to mid 20's, im pretty sure.

Globe cutlery knives were imported from Germany by a firm in new york. Same time frame and earlier I do believe.

This from the top of my head so 100% accuracy is not guaranteed ::tu::

That's my Etsy store where I sell old knives and sometimes handmade knife accessories to support my knife habbit. Thanks for looking my friend. ::tu::
