Uncle Henry 892UH

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

That's great! ::tu::
That's also a new one for me to see. ::hmm::
Amazing the things that we've not seen or noticed in the pocketknife world.
Going to dig into the 892 and wonder how it has remained in the shadows.

In 1984 Schrade made 2 new UH knives, the 707UH and the 892UH, in very low numbers. These were produced for only 2 years each being built on an existing 3rd Generation frame. The 707UH was later released in 1991 in a completely different configuration with a single blade and a small scissor. – Larry Vickery
Be sure to look at the pictures of the knives listed and a great deal more at Larry's web site;

Reading the opening post by tbighunter and his finding this knife at a flea market, made me wonder about what he paid for it.
Not that it is any of my business, but after a short search, that puppy is high dollar and maybe it was a real bargain! ::shrug::

Every now and then a real bargain presents itself, glad you got it for $30!
Always pays to have a few bucks stuffed out of sight in your billfold for such occasions. ::nod::

Now that you have one, you'll have to make it your mission in life to collect the rest of the family. Good luck!
