Case TL-29

Post by CarMan »

Question for you gurus. I have this Case Tested XX TL-29, which is a 1920-1940 tang stamp, I think. But, the knife is all steel and no brass (liners, separator & pins), indicating it was made during the war effort-post 1941. Would I be wrong in assuming that since steel was in short supply, that Case was using blades that were leftover possibly. This knife is in great shape and still retains its factory edge & etching. I have several others like this online.
Thank you for any help,
John

The CASE TESTED XX stamp was used until after WWII. Sources that say 1920-1940 are incorrect. I have knives (and have seen others) with that tang stamp which were made on military contract during WWII. Your knife may be yet another example.
