WESTCO BOULDER COLO Jack Knife
I just got this knife, searching on AAPK I only find this tang stamp on fixed blade knives. What is the story on this one - 3-1/4" premium jack. To me it looks like it was made by Utica.

Re: WESTCO BOULDER COLO Jack Knife
The model number is X265 from 1941.
"X" for assorted colors
2 for 2 blades
65 for pattern #65
The other options that year were X2265 for composition pearl handles and X6265 for bone stag handles.
We can identify it to the 1941 run because the pen blade is on the shield side of the knife.
The 1936-1940 version had the main blade on the shield side.
Actual manufacturer could be Western, Utica, Case, Union (Kabar) or others as Western had knives made by other cutlery companies, as did all the other cutlery companies. They were one big incestuous lot back then. No records remain to identify who made what for who.

Thanks for the info. I have seen WEST-CUT and WESTACO, but I did not know that WESTCO was alsoa Western tang stamp.zzyzzogeton wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2025 6:18 am The model number is X265 from 1941.

Re: WESTCO BOULDER COLO Jack Knife
WESTCO is relatively rare, probably limited to a "value line" from 1941 only.
WESTACO was a 1936-1940 line.
Both were folder lines.
