I’m stepping in for this round of the POS exchange as Kolvir (Andrew Hartung) is a bit under the weather and wanted to keep this annual event around the same time of the year. While Andrew was moving the POS exchange towards greater automation outside of AAPK for the back-end exchange processing, in the essence of time and to reduce my learning curve, I’m taking us back to old school.
As many of you know, the POS exchange begins with the gathering of your “choice selections” or POS knives that are a “Piece Of Fecal Matter” from all the knives you've accumulated during the previous year and send it to some other lucky soul on the forum. Participation is totally voluntary.
To participate in this year’s POS exchange, please send me a Private Message (PM) here on AAPK before the end of the day Saturday March 22nd and format your PM with only me (bestgear) as the recipient and 2025 POS Exchange Registration as the subject and the following information (nothing more, nothing less and in this order):
AAPK Username:
First and Last Name:
Address Line 1:
Address Line 2:
City:
State:
Zip Code:
Feel free to cut and paste the information above as a template for your PM to me. You do not need to post in this forum topic that you have entered as I will be making regular posts here on who has officially registered to participate. Remember, no PM means no POS package!
Starting on Sunday March 23rd I will send all participants a PM with the name and address of the lucky (randomly chosen) recipient for you to send a POS knife care package. Please set a reminder to check your AAPK PMs before the end of the day on 3/23/2025. You will then have 1 week or until Saturday, March 29th to prepare and ship your POS package to the recipient.
Once a package has landed, all participants are encouraged to post photos of and comments about their new "treasures" here in this forum topic. There are no rules in what qualifies as POS; old knives, new knives, good knives, bad knives. U.S. knives, foreign knives, all are welcome. With that said, it is requested that you don't send a pile of knife parts or nothing that is so rusty that you can't get the blades open. Please send whole knives only (tipped or used to death blades are okay).
As for the number of knives you send, it can be as many as you want to unload. One knife is not frowned on but then neither are several knives. It has been the trend for the past few years to include something decent as a surprise, however, this is not required to participate.
Reminder Dates:
- PM sent to me no later than Saturday March 22nd with information requested by participants
- PM sent to participants on Sunday March 23rd with the address of their recipient
- Packages mailed by Saturday March 29th by all participants
