Marbles w/bakelite Pommel

Post by Hemitime »

I know about the scarcity of the case fixed blade with the above referenced pommel. How scarce are the Marbles knives in comparison? Are they more plentiful?

Marbles made so many with bakelite pommels that they are not sought after. Marbles did not have any military contracts during WW2. Case did and made very few commercial hunting knives at that time and Marbles made many. Since aluminum was a strategic metal at the time and not allowed for commercial use Marbles went with the bakelite pommels and I have read they did so for some time after the war. Case did make the 7" blade "stiletto" for private purchase by soldiers which all had the bakelite pommel, it is the Case commercial hunting knives that are rarely found with those pommels.
