Post by Misfit-45 »

I'm checking this out for a friend, but could not find this one anywhere.
The tang reads: GEO. SCHRADE KNIFE CO. INC. B’P’T. CONN
PRESTO PAT. JAN. 30-40. MADE IN USA
Thanks for your help.

I've seen that model referred to as the model 3500, as well as a "Derby Bolster Hunter". This model measures about 5" closed.

There's also a shorter version that I've seen referred to as the model 1500 "Derby Bolster Scout". The "Scout" measures about 4" closed. Yours appears to be the larger 3500. Aside from being longer, the 3500 has one more handle pin on each side than the 1500.

They were made with a few different handle scales.

It's also my understanding that there is reference to the 3500 in Mark Ericksons book "Antique American Switchblades".

Valuable knife, depending on condition. I see that a few 3500's have sold here at AAPK for $600, and $650.
