Trying to identify a switchblade in a movie
The knife is in Igor and the Lunatics, a 1985 B-horror movie from Troma Entertainment. It’s a very large, possibly between 15 and 18 inches, Sicilian style side opener. It’s not an AGA Campolin Sicilian as those hadn’t come out yet. The bottom of the handle is shaped like the Sicilian, the seer hole is drilled all the way through, there appears to be some kind of engraving on the top bolster and the blade is kind of shaped like that of a Prioletta. So far nobody I’ve asked has been able to match it up with anything they have. If you one of you could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Upon doing some more research, I’ve discovered that this particular style of knife is a Sicilian style known as “Liccasapuni.” There are some old Liccasapuni folding knives that size but so far I haven’t found any switchblade versions. Below is a pic of a Liccasapuni folder.

I’m interested to see what you come up with, I’m not a switchblade guy, but I combed through a lot of pics and haven’t seen anything quite like it.

Looking through more Google pics I wonder if it’s a Spanish style lever lock Navaja or Toledo style knife or a German style folding hunter style(not necessarily the blade shape but blade longer than the handle)?

It’s definitely not a German style hunter as the blade isn’t longer than the handle. The whole handle isn’t in the frame I got. The handle and blade shape are almost identical to the folder I posted a pic of below. Found that pic on Reddit. I may have to look at my “Switchblades of Italy” book and see if I can find anything resembling it.

I’ve gone through SOI and have found nothing resembling it. I’m now thinking it could possibly be a Spanish knife. I did see the Navaja come up when I was doing my Google search.

Looks much like an Italian "Vendetta" fighting knife to me.
at least I'd say that's close!
