Built my first trapper slipjoint

Post by YsterNeuker »

Hi guys.

I'm a knife-maker from South Africa. I've been exclusively making a variety of fixed-blade knives using high carbon steel for the past 2-3 years.

I recently got interested in trying my hand at folding knives/slipjoints.

Here is my first attempt:

1070 blade and spring, 3mm thickness.
OD green, brown and black G10 scales.
Brass pins and pivot.
600 grit hand-rubbed finish.

The knive has a medium pull, half-stop, and a nicely centered blade. Very comfortable in the hand and shaving sharp.

Very excited to start on my next batch of slipjoints, which will feature black micarta bolsters, stainless shadow bushings, stainless pins and stainless liners.

Thanks for taking a look at my work!

I agree, it's a great looking knife ::tu::
The location of the nail nick suggests left hand opening, or is the image reversed?
