Need Marbles 3/8 tang nut specs

Webster Marble formed Gladstone Mfg. Co. in 1892. That company created the first folding Axe in 1893 which lead to the incorporation of Marble's Safety Axe Co. in 1898. The company became Marble Arms & Mfg. Co. in 1911 & enjoyed years of success until succumbing to a shut down of production in 1974. The brand was brought back to life in 1994 & enjoyed a grand rejuvenation that later gave way to another shutdown in 2009. Many great knives & tools were crafted over the company's storied history.

Need Marbles 3/8 tang nut specs

Post by Neelymoto »

Does anyone know the thread specs for a 3/8 inch tang nut used on marbles knives? I have lightly buggered up a couple of tang nuts tightening handles, see offerings on amazon for 10 nut sets in various thread pitch sizes, and considering purchasing some of these for replacements. Would 1/4 - 20 be correct?
Thanks!

I hope this helps-

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
• Tang Nut Size:
The pommel nut that secures the handle to the tang is typically 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch in diameter.

• Thread Size:
If you need to replace or repair a tang nut, it's likely to be 1/4-20 or 1/4-24.

• Material:
Marble's tang nuts are commonly made of brass, but stainless steel options are also available.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!
