Old Case stockman needing repaired

Hello all! New to the board and looking for some help. I’m trying to get my Father’s stockman repaired. His father gave it to him some years ago and I believe it is from the 1960’s timeframe. The blades appear to be carbon steel and the main blade appears to have been broken at the base. Any help would be much appreciated!

Welcome to AAPK. I agree, that looks like a 1960-70’s shield. Hopefully someone here has a blade to fit it, else you’ll need to find a donor knife that has a usable blade. Recommend you look through the posts in this Knife Repair thread, find someone (or several someones) who does blade replacement and send them PM or email explaining the work you want done. (Click on their member name for contact info). Then proceed from there. In my experience if you wait for someone to contact you, you’ll have a long wait. Maybe someone will see your request and respond, but good knife mechanics typically have a backlog of work and don’t need to chase more, so taking the initiative to contact them will get faster results.

First and foremost, you need to take a pair of pliers and pull that stub of a master blade up. Use WD 40 or something to free things up a bit if need be. It will show you the date of the knife and also have 4 numbers on the back. Those 4 numbers will tell you the replacement blade you need to find. Hard to look at a picture and be for sure what you have. I'm thinking a 75 or 92, but that might not be right.

It appears to be a 6375...would be 4-1/4" closed. Case still makes that pattern, so they may be albe to install a new blade )if the tooling has not changed too much).
