USPS - prices up, service getting worse...

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Obviously if you're not happy with their service, switching to a different one would make sense.

I have done the same with most of the few small packages I send from selling and trading. When I did the POS Exchange this year, UPS was actually a couple bucks cheaper than the USPS.

My wife shipped a somewhat large box a few days ago. She used a shipping store called “Box & Go” where they determine the cheapest method. UPS was $39.84 and the clerk said that USPS was “over $50”. My wife obviously chose UPS.

Too much mail theft, and too many mail errors to trust sendung a check via USPS, so online payments are the way to go.

I'm astonished at the lack of concern by our local Post Office regarding mail theft, it is like "What do you want us to do about itt, post a guard at your box?"

Few years back, a carrier from the next town got caught after years of stealing one guy's meds from the VA. Many, myself included had long figured that other employees had been covering for her.

It's still your choice of who ships it.

Unfortunately that's not true. I just looked at an item to PURCHASE and the shipping company is already determined.
Now, that I think about my listings, I do select who I will be shipping with when I sell an item, at the time I'm listing the item.

USPS is still my choice.
I know it costs more but everything has been received or delivered.
