Ka-bar Question

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

Ka-bar Question

Post by just bob »

Was at the flea market today and thought I got a great deal on a Ka-bar 11" hunting knife. I've been looking at it and notice the tang stamp is a stencil etch and have been trying to get more info on it. I notice these knives from Dunn's all have the stencil etch and are much lower priced than the standard Ka-bar knives. Are knives like these unauthorized Chinese knock offs or is this a bargain product line. Not the actual knife I have but of the same ilk. Notice they don't indicate where the knife was made. Too lazy to take a pic. All comments appreciated.
