I’m looking at a supposedly Imperial single blade pocket knife. The handle has a gold star in it. The blade looks like a Damascus steel blade. It’s not marked Imperial. There’s an Imperial box with it. The woman
online that has it says it’s Imperial but I don’t know. I haven’t been able to find anything about that particular knife. Kinda favors a Sod Buster in design. You
guys out there in the knife world have any clue.

I doubt Imperial ever made a Damascus blade knife. Your description jarred my memory, and I knew I had seen a knife like you described. I have a feeling THIS- https://www.temu.com/1pc-damascus-steel ... t772chz8s1 -is the knife you're looking at.

I was pretty sure I had seen it while perusing Temu, and hoped I could save the OP from being duped. I have purchased several knives from Temu . The first, a CRKT counterfeit, purchased out of curiosity. It would take someone who really knows CRKT to recognize it as a fake. I passed that one along to my son-in-law to replace the CEO he lost. He could not tell the minor differences until I pointed them out. He will never sell the knife and wouldn't sell it as "the real thing" if he did. I have gotten some real POS knives as well, but most have been equal in quality to Rough Ryder and the other SMKW Chinese knives.bestgear wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2026 8:05 pmif it is Bill, you are the knife whisperer - how in the world did you come up with that?Gtrclktr-351 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2026 7:54 pm….and I knew I had seen a knife like you described…….is the knife you're looking at.

Re: Wooden Handled Imperial
I have never heard of Imperial, making a damascus blade knife. While I have not study the Imperial line as thoroughly as I have studied Schrade, i'm very familiar with it. I have never seen a sod buster pattern made by Imperial, nor seen one listed in any up their catalogs.
Are there other markings on the box that would having to do with the brand? Such as Providence, Rhode Island, where Imperial was located? Another marking Imperial Knife Co used was IKC. That marking might indicate it was Imperial who made the box.
From your description, it sounds like someone put the knife in the wrong box. Lacking pictures to examine, it is really anyone's guess as to the legitimacy of the knife.
