M.M. the Al Mar was found in a pawn shop (see; "Pawn Stars" thread for more details). Well...as a side note...Madmarco wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 2:58 am That's a gorgeous quality folder, bud!
Is yours the copy from Jamie's store, he had/has one for sale?
I recently saw an Al Mar "Sere" automatic I'd love to own someday, but even the manual would make for a great score, at the right price!
And I'm glad you've decided to behave yourself, otherwise it was "buckwheats" for you!![]()

Oh, it's not the money that's stopping me, it's the damn technology I don't get!GSPTOPDOG wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 10:56 pmNo worries Mark, just keep posting your photos and getting new knives to inspire others on AAPKMadmarco wrote: ↑Fri Apr 07, 2023 8:30 pm I'm hoping that when I break out my brand new laptop I won from Microsoft that my pictures will improve, but that's about my only hope cuz I don't have a mobile now and doubt I ever will.

(Note* if you sold one of those big old cranes from your crane operating company you could get a really expensive hi-tech and fancy "modern-times" type phone...
)
I was a flip phone guy until a few months ago when it broke it two
Years ago, AGR had some really nice slip-joints out of Seki-City,
I guess I've just been lucky, Dog, there is nothing in this world I can't accomplish without a computer stuck to my face!GSPTOPDOG wrote: ↑Sat Apr 08, 2023 9:22 pmI was a flip phone guy until a few months ago when it broke it two![]()
and to replace it was about $85
... I have a "new-fangled-phone I got as gift, but like you put it away in frustration
but sometimes the "new-world-order" forces itself on you one way or another...

I think I know the AGR you're talking about, and might even own one.GSPTOPDOG wrote: ↑Sat Apr 08, 2023 9:26 pmYears ago, AGR had some really nice slip-joints out of Seki-City,... man I wish I had picked up a couple back then, they looked really nice in the catalog. I think AGR might have had a skeleton one as well... I'll have to look and see if I have any old catalogs left, I used to save them ...
... but stuff sure builds up when you have limited space...

I'd like to see that one M.M.
I like that one Marco! Some great knives come out of Seki. It reminds me of one of my favorite Kershaw knives..Madmarco wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 3:28 am Is this the one, Dog, or am I confusing it with the model you referred to?![]()
Front tang is stamped "A.G. Russell", and rear tang "Seki-Japan".
The little black square on the spine is the top-lock, and the rectangle shaped blade hole is for 1-hand opening.
Even if we're talking about 2 different knives, this one is really nice!
