Thanks Joe! Your CRKT is mighty fine! Nice shape and size.FRJ wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 4:45 pmThat's so neat that you have your dads knife.Corn Creek Cutlery wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 3:15 pm Did some knife trading with the family over the holiday.
Ended up with my Dad's old Queen. He wasn't much on sharpening or taking care of a knife, but this old gal still has good snap with a tight blade.
Gonna try to sharpen and carry today...![]()

What a perfect carry for you, Tony, I didn't realize the club anniversary knife is as gorgeous as it is, but your pictures certainly clear that misconception up, be sure no one faints when you whip it out!Corn Creek Cutlery wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 12:44 am The knives you guys have posted throughout this year have been nothing short of awesome, superb, and a joy to look at in this thread. It seems we have quite similar taste when it comes to pocket cutlery, Joe, cuz I have a copy of this beautiful well made knife, too!FRJ wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 5:01 pm Nice carries, David.![]()

Here's an old new knife that I have had for quite a while.
Almost never carry it. I thought I would bring in the new year with it in my pocket.
4 5/16" closed. No liners but a nicely engineered spring catch milled and screwed? into the frame to lock the blade.
I'll call it a frame lock. (I ignore the clip.)
I'm a big CRKT fan, and when I first saw your knife I thought it was a Michael Walker designed folder, but then I remembered the blade shape is from this Howard Viele designed CRKT knife. The only differences are the black covers, mine are black/blue and mine is minus the etches. I don't know if you are aware of the original Spyderco C42 Viele designed what I know as "Wasp" knife, but IMO, it's the nicest and sleekest of all 3 designs, if you Google it you might agree.
I got kindda excited for you when I read "Limited Edition 1 of 500/Swiss Made 0001" thinking it might be rare, but quickly realized that "Limited Edition 1 of 500" doesn't coincide with "Swiss Made 0001", or, Swiss Made First of 1,000 made, so what is it fellas, 500 or 1,000??? lol! A marketing ploy I suspect!
As far as a title, IMO, liner or frame lock is acceptable, but I sure do like how they set this one up, and your description of it works is the best I've heard so far.
How you can "ignore" the pocket-clip, it's mandatory to remove for myself, it's the first thing I do when receiving a new knife! Besides it's non-aesthetic value, I'd have concerns about snagging the clip on something external and yanking my treasured knife right outta my pocket to be lost forever, nope, they gotta go!
Sorry 'bout my lengthy reply, my friend,

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Thank you, Marco. So we have two knives of the same design. That's cool.
I didn't connect "Viele" as a designer but now I know.
I'll check out the Wasp.
I'd like to see pictures of your knives. Thanks again.
EDIT: Checking on the Wasp knife; I think that's what I have here.
