Harry and David's are headquartered in Medford Oregon. I grew up not far from there and worked in the orchards and the packing house before I went in the Marine Corps. They are some of the best pears on Earth!

Tony, you are giving Amber a great vacation experience! Nice to spread the word about Brian also. The good ones will get what we're trying to do. The others won't understand and will think it's just a knife.

Tom, that's almost as good as the jelly of the month club...the gift that keeps giving the whole year! Make sure to moderate your cheese intake though, don't want to get bound up... ::poke::

Figured I was past due to check in on Amber and I'm glad to get all caught up with the pics, stories and travel. She's looking good Tony and in good hands, for sure. I'd love to travel to that Tar Heel club show one of these years. Reckon I should do it sooner than later. I love North Carolina and my travels through there on our trips to the beach the past 40 years. That's a fine gesture on the part of Ivoryman's wife, Tom...You are most deserving of that monthly treat! Can't believe it's nearing the end of the month and almost time for Amber to be on the move again. Gonna go check to see where she's headed next...
I’m a long time collector in search of rare and limited GEC AND Northwoods knives. Always looking to add ivory pieces to my collection. PM to discuss sales or trades, please!

Glenn, you are right ... this is a beautiful tribute to a great person whom we were blessed to have as a Knife Brother on this forum.
Many thanks to you and all others prior to me, for the stories and care of this knife that Brian would have loved. ::handshake::

The "Days Of Amber" are waning here in NE Tennessee. In a couple days, she will be traveling down south to our Brother Scott in the "Free State Of Sunshine". I look forward to seeing and reading about her adventures there. ::nod::

I decided to do a group shot of my IvoryMan Collection with Amber. All these are knives and carvings Brian bombed me with, gave me, or I purchased in the auctions. They are very special pieces, especially the ones he used and carried.

Early this morning, Amber and I spent some time going through and printing out the PMs Brian and I shared. I will keep them with my Ivoryman Collection in the safe. I am not one to share too much personal stuff, but Amber Across America is a special time to do so.

Without saying too much and being brief, it all started with post interactions, then Brian's interest in RoseCraft and my interest in a Queen Drake Well. It's amazing how a couple knives can spark a friendship even though we never met in person. In addition to knives, we shared much about our families, friends, cars, and life in general. Knowing him through this forum has enriched my life greatly, and I will always cherish the conversations we had.

Today is the day! Amber is being prepared for travel again. Spent the early morning re-reading this topic and taking a couple more pics.
She will be on her way to Scott soon!

- Amber with some of my wife's flowers ...
Haven't mentioned, but my wife has really enjoyed this time also. This past month, we have talked much about Brian, AAA,
and what a great group AAPK's members are. She is not a knife person, but she loves l@@king at a knice knife.
- Amber with a couple Japanese Moki ACSB cousins. Thanks Sasquatch and 'Q' for the inspiration, and KnifeAddict for the bomb on the right!
- Before final packing ... original box going inside a fresh box for travel.

It has been sweet to carry Amber for a month, but the reflection and memories of what this is really about has been sweeter.
Many thanks to Cindy and family, Tom, and all others involved in this fitting tribute to our Brother Brian.

Amber arrived yesterday in spectacular condition!! And she's a beauty as you all know.
In addition, our sneaky friend, Tony, dropped this BOMB on me....
Totally cool and unexpected!!

My gf is in the hospital so I can't bring any knives with me until she's released then I'll put Amber to work
on behalf of our dear friend.

Right On!! Very cool of Tony to give Amber a travelling companion to make the journey to Florida 8) ::tu:: Symbolic, too, in a way with your gf being in the hospital and having you, her bf, by her side for love and support. Reminds me of the numerous times I was in the hospital, Brian always sent me "care packages" filled with all kinds of sweets and often included a new knife because he knew it would cheer me up. That's the kind of friend he was. On June 15 it will make one year since Brian died and I still think of him every day and miss him terribly. This AAA tribute has really been helpful to me in dealing with my grief. Much appreciation to everyone who has participated so far in caring for Amber as a way to honor Ivoryman's memory.....difficult to express the level of gratitude I feel for you guys for doing this for Brian.....means a lot, more than words can say. Ivoryman was a friend to many here but you were the closest Q. I'm glad to have been a small part of honoring him. No thanks necessary my friend.
