Music anyone

If you can think of something to talk about that is not related to knives, discuss it here.

Hey Calico Jack,

I can relate. I still like to listen to some GNR, White Snake, Pearl Jam (Black is still one of my favorite songs), and Alice in Chains. And, of course, Nirvana. However, the ultimate three chords and snare drum band goes back to the 60s...The Kinks. :) s-k

If you want to travel that far back, you have to include the Animals, Steam, the Guess Who(maybe a litte too much keyboard), the Troggs, the Rascals, BTO, Big Brother and Janis Joplin solo, Crosby, Stills, and Nash(sometimes with Young), and the Turtles. Who's left??

Guess Who? Who's left? ...you mean Who's Next? Sorry.

Neil Young is one of my all-time favorites. Love those 12 min album rock tracks like Cowgirl in the Sand and Down by the River. CSN, sometimes Y, mostly excellent. Guess who and BTO great. ::tu:: I might get nostalgic this evening thanks :) s-k

I heard the name "Buddy Rich". It rung a bell. (I think Lobo mentioned him.) He and Maynard Ferguson are tops if your into jazz that sounds like hard work. A friend of mine played with Maynard for a few years in the 80's and 90's. I think now he's a Jazz professor up in Mich. He and I were horn players in college. He was only into practicing trombone, I practiced a little and played with knives. He became sorta famous, and I still play with knives.

Quite an impressive list of guitarists here in this topic. I sorta like Eric Johnson, and Bela Fleck. Talk about versatile!

I like just about all kinds of music (I teach it), except most opera, most rap, and most metal, (not all though). Give me the sounds of Doobie Bros., Denver, Eagles, Alabama, James Taylor, Jim Croce, Kenny Rogers, along those lines, and I'll usually never get tired of 'em.

I grew up with Classical music and have always liked it, but I also enjoy folk, particularly Mexican Huapango and Jarocho, and I love old Irish songs specialy when sung by The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem.

I play the harmonica almost every day, mostly Mexican and Irish folk tunes of course, I currently EDC a Hohner Special 20 since my Hering broke, sometimes I use old Hohner Marine band and I am looking for the new Hohner Marine Band Deluxe to try it out.

My two daughters spent 14 years each at Yamaha music school, they both have absolute ear and play the piano, I can't say that I share their taste in music though...

Country or Western is all I listen to. 25 or so years of deep free diving have taken a toll on my hearing. That's the only music where I can hear the words. If I can't hear the lyrics, it's just noise to me. Toss out the TV and the stereo, more time to free dive, I'll be back at it in April. :D

I'm not picky, no rap, regaee, or any other of that crap. I don't like most country but some willie nelson. I'm pretty diverse-some classical, most of bob dylans older folk stuff, woody guthrie, AC/DC, metallica, nickleback, alice in chains, creed, lifehouse, breaking benjamin, seether, Kelly Clarkson, some godsmack alot of older stuff like CCR and that. Most fiddle music solos (Michael Markley is one of my favs, lesser known but damn he can saw a fiddle, (no hound dog vocals please ;)). I love the sound of a good harmonica too! I like alot of blues too Stevie ray Vaughn, BB king, a newer lesser known group called pure grain. As long as it isn't rap, regaee, or most newer country-chances are I like it.
