May I join the fun?

The Remington Corporation and the knives that they built have influenced the U.S. cutlery industry more than nearly any other manufacturer. From the time America was settled, to the end of WWI, American knife companies struggled to compete with Britain and German imports, but events that occurred during and after the First World War led to a great change in this phenomenon. Unprecedented opportunities arose, and Remington stepped up to seize the moment. In the process, they created some of today's most prized collectables. In an ironic twist, the next World War played the greatest role in ending the company’s domination of the industry.

Here is the last one in the display case. It is an example of handle material #9. Metal. This is an R219.

Nice Remington's thanks for showing them.
I guess I don't get out enough, I have never come across one with the blade etch.
I do try to buy all I find in almost any condition as long as my wife lets me.
Here are a few of mine.

Look at yours under a good light and use a magnifier. Some of those should have an etch hiding in the patina. Thanks for posting.

Hey welcome aboard! It's pretty difficult to find the brass handle EO Rems, virtually unused like yours. Awesome ::tu::

Here is another knife with the handle code "2". I most often see this material on toothpicks, however Remington does show it on several patterns. It's interesting the way the grooves seemed to have been cut after the handles were on the knife since the grooves cut right through the shield and the rivets:

Nice knife. I have seen the grooved handles before but never in that fine condition. Most of the #2 black handle Remingtons I see are black composition like yours instead of black wood.
