Questionable Case Tested XX 6345 1/2
Any thoughts on this example? It looks questionable to me for the reasons highlighted in pictures. The bottom blade is from a reference Case Tested XX 63045 1/2. The 6345 1/2 example I have all have long pulls.

In the listing the seller states in three different places "brand new". Maybe he's trying to tell us something?

Would go well with the counterfeit Coco-Cola shield knives that we see all too often. I believe this knife has the same ancestry. Utica/Kutmaster.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

I hate to disagree and I am no expert on these older Case knives, but I think it looks authentic. I don’t know if it’s worth nearly as much as he is asking. Just my non expert opinion.

Re: Questionable Case Tested XX 6345 1/2
In the sellers description he identifies this knife as being 3 1/2 inches long which as we know is incorrect for a 45 so I just don't think Jim Sargent would have authenticated that.

"Questionable" would be a compliment - it is an "across the room" fake.

No I don’t buy older knives precisely because I don’t know the difference in most cases. I am learning. I haven’t had to study the fakes too closely sticking w/ this strategy.peanut740 wrote:SSK,you're the type of guy he is fishing for.
Believe me I would check something like this out closely before I would even consider bidding on a knife like this. You guys are where I would come.

Why is it always a 45 1/2, I have had one for some time that is kept in the worn-out roll. Since we are looking at 45 1/2, look this one over. I hope my AAPK friends can give me some knowledge on this one, I have always questioned it even though it feels nice and heavy in your hand.

Jporter your knife looks fine to me. I can’t tell if handles are bone or composite. When I get back to my big screen computer I’ll take a closer look at the pictures.Jporter1974 wrote:Why is it always a 45 1/2, I have had one for some time that is kept in the worn-out roll. Jporter, yours is authentic. Looks like jigged black composition. I believe that it may have been a military contract knife.

Thanks Family, I really love AAPK. Did you ever think there would be anything like this? One day your down at the IGA buying a TV Guide and getting up to change each of the 13 channels on the zenith 25" floor model deluxe..The next day, I'm using wireless Internet talking to a bunch of guys who love knives as much as I do from all over the country.. Next thing you know, we REALLY might go to the moon..
