Tie tack

I just landed the cufflinks to match.

Jason, how big is your tie-clip when closed? Am I seeing that the clip itself functions as the rear handle slab on your tie-tack?

I don't know the exact size of my cufflinks yet but they appear to be the same size as the tie-tack.

Now how did I miss those?! The cufflinks and tie tack were sold together as a set and they're all 1.5" long. You're right about the tie tack - the pile side scale is the clip. I have a few of these including a Schrade and an Imperial. The engraved covers on the mark side are clipped on - Imperial made them.

The other tie clip you found is 2.25" long and I'm pretty sure it's an Ulster - although it might be a Colonial. It's got two images on it that alternate back and forth as you move the knife - it's called a lenticular image. I bought a minty clean one for $25 and they're more common than the little Imperial tie clip. I've seen people price those lenticulars at over $100 - definitely possible to get them cheaper if you wait and keep watching.

Thanks for the details Jason. I kinda figured that all three came together as a set originally. I like how the construction varies between the clip and cufflinks and it's not just the same tiny knife with something different glued to it etc. The "IMPERIAL USA" tang-stamps are a big part of why I grabbed them.

I hate to have to tell you this so soon after you found the cufflinks, but I just spotted another version that you'll need to start looking for now! This one's a pin with a lock bar on the back. It's the first one I've seen.

I purchased this knife this morning, a SCHRADE WALDEN, 3 blade, swelled center, CRAFTSMAN "whittler" pocket knife. My first SCHRADE WALDEN tang stamp for this model of knife. It is a "9494" even without it being stamped as such. It appears to be in very nice condition. I'll check it out when it arrives and clean where it's necessary. Pictures will be taken and posted in the appropriate location(s).

Your "Crafstman/USA" Barlow has bone handles, correct ? It could well be a Camillus made knife. Definitely not an 'off shore' knife. It's an older USA knife

The handles on the above S-W Craftsman swell center 3 blade knife are a pre-Delrin synthetic that Schrade-Walden only used for a few years. One of the more expert collectors can likely give the dates. Probably 1950's.
