The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Would this be considered a "72"? Was it made by CAMILLUS? Sure looks like a 72 to the uninformed... such as myself
Same pattern but different tang stamp and maker. The Craftsman 9494 was produced by Sears Roebuck by several makers. Yours I believe was made by Ulster, just going by the master clip blade and plain thumb nail nick. Good find, Congrats. Here is the thread about Camillus 72 Clones. viewtopic.php?f=63&t=62956 You should consider also posting your Craftsman 9494 there also.

Thanks, it has been dry as Death Valley for a while for me finding knives out there.
Nice find GSP TOPDog. It sure takes more doing to find them around here as well ,but they’re out there .
Take care out there .
I think the main problem for me is that a lot of ones I have found in person, at pawn shops yard sales etc...etc... are usually in EXTRA worn out shape

Just rehandled this Camillus Jack knife I purchase in a box of knives. I did it in worm grove bone.

I found a #67 to add to the pile... Maybe some acid-tone to get that blue paint off the metal.
Some WD40 and OOOO steel wool should do it also.

This 91 Congress was in pretty sad shape when I paid $10 for it today.
I cleaned it up a bit and sharpened it. It's a long line stamp. Another packer.
Great safe. Put some new life in the old gal.
