No napping during the day, no caffeine after lunch, stick to a regular bedtime schedule.

Glad to learn the new mattress fixed your problem. Several years ago after having similar problems, during my annual checkup I mentioned having trouble sleeping to my doctor. After a Q&A, he recommended a doctor who specializes in sleep disorders. There they gave me a device that gently clips onto your fingertip and is connected by wire to a little device about the size and weight of a cigarette pack. The device records your oxygen levels while you sleep. I “slept” that night with it, then took it back to the sleep doctor.
Turns out my oxygen levels dropped significantly multiple times per hour, because I stopped breathing. My brain subconsciously realizing I wasn’t breathing, woke me up, and I breathed. Repeat. I never really got to a deep, restful complete sleep state. So they sent me for a sleep study. I spent a night in a sleep lab (basically a hotel room with monitors). Diagnosis - I have sleep apnea, which is a sleep disorder common to millions of people. And often undiagnosed. Upon further examination I was fitted for a CPAP (Continuous Positive Air Pressure) machine. After an initial few days getting accustomed to it I have slept soundly and awaken feeling rested and refreshed ever since. It has some other benefits also. Now I wouldn’t be without it! Depending on your diagnosis there are other remedies available besides a CPAP. I think you’ll find sleep apnea is more common than you know

That may not be your problem. But it’s easy to find out - just talk with your doctor. One night with a little oxygen monitor on your fingertip will likely tell the story. If it’s not the problem you can go spend a bunch on a new mattress. If sleep apnea is a problem, unless you get it treated no matter what kind of mattress you get, your sleep quality won’t be any better.

Ken and all who are part of AAPK. I don’t know why it would surprise me that there was a thread about Sleep Apnea. When I looked I saw that Jerry had posted there also.
I have been using a bypap. I have obstructive and central apnea. When my brain forgets. I liked the mask from the start no getting used to it for me. It reminded me of when I was a kid I slept face down between the wall and mattress. Seemed like cool air.
Last thing the funny thing. When I was at the Dr,
He said you have central apnea have you had head trauma. First thing out of my mouth. I have had two wives and 5 kids. Still married to the second. That could be considered head trauma.
Hopefully y’all enjoy my story.
Good night or good morning all.
Steve

Good advice C-W7

....

But...

it seems like my work interferes with my sleep schedule:
My job ain't a job, it's a damn good time
City to city, I'm running my rhymes
On location, touring around the nation
GSPTopDog, always on vacation
