My Latest Attempt to Rehandle a Knife

Post by dlr110 »

They were both really dirty and the scales were in bad shape. So I gave them a bath, got all the pocket lint and grim out, polished them up and put on new handles with some material I had.

The first one is a no name single blade lockback and I used some Ironwood and white fiber spacers.
The second one is a short line Camillus. I used some Linen Micarta that looks like Jade and pieces of Ironwood from the first knife as spacers. I elected not to put the small pins in the ends of the handle.

Those turned out really nice.
I especially like the Camillus.

Beautiful!
I have never used Ironwood, or the Jade micarta, but both are beautiful. That wood almost seems to glow!

I finished with a 10K grit paper on the Ironwood, that's almost like polishing I think.
