I finished with a 10K grit paper on the Ironwood, that's almost like polishing I think.

I fitted those small pieces to an old Case 92042 senator pen knife that had some “life” remaining. While not perfect, by any means, it seems to be a fine, delicate “church knife” (or “magic knife, since the scales don’t match)!
